"Love! That's the four letter word to describe how I felt about this unique, sexy story. J. Daniels' hottest book to date."---Penelope Ward, New York Times bestselling author

Fate. Hate. Love. Lies.
Which four letter word will change their lives forever?

Sydney Paige was never so mortified to hear the words "wrong number" in her life. She meant to tell off the guy who broke her best friend's heart, but unleashed her anger on a perfect stranger instead. And now her world is turned upside down by the captivating man who wants to keep her on the line.

Brian Savage is living a life he's quickly come to hate-until Sydney's wild rant has him hooked and hungry for more. Soon the sexy woman on the phone becomes the lover in his bed. But Brian has secrets, and the closer he lets Syd get, the harder it is to shield her from the devastating mistakes of his past . . .

I received this book for free from Publisher in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.

My Thoughts. blog

There’s nothing like picking up a book by one of your favorite authors. So, when I saw I was approved for this ARC I screamed (naturally) and downloaded it to my kindle. Once Four Letter Word was on my kindle, it was game over. I didn’t care that I had homework to be done. I was reading this book. It’s been one of my most anticipated reads of the year.

Four Letter Word is one of my favorite J. Daniels books to date (When I Fall is still my favorite, but that’s because it has Reed and we’re in love). Brian Savage, though, gave my man a run for his money. He’s just such a sweet and caring guy, who also has a dirty talking mouth. My favorite kind of hero.

The story starts out with Sydney’s, the heroine, world getting turned upside down. So, what does she do? Drive to her BFF’s house, to start the next chapter of her life. And what better way to start that next chapter than to call up the man who broke your BFF’s heart. Which is what Sydney does, going off on the guy, letting out all of her anger on this guy.

Except, she dialed the wrong number.

Sydney going off on the wrong guy might not seem like a strong foundation to a friendship or relationship, but it is. The two text and talk on the phone, everyday, but Brian (who was the guy behind the wrong number) is scared to meet. See, Brian does something (trying to avoid spoilers) that makes him hesitant to meet Sydney in person. Even if it’s all he wants to do.

Don’t worry, obviously these two do end up meeting, and they are so cute together! Brian is completely  swoony. He’s so romantic, in a very Brian way, but he’s just so sweet on Sydney and doesn’t want to play games.

And Sydney! She’s such a strong and a resilient character. She’s learning to find herself again in this new chapter she’s living and she’s discovering the life she was living for years wasn’t for her. She’s finding her voice again.

Not only are Brian and Sydney compelling, fleshed out characters, but the supporting characters are great too! My favorite thing to read about in books are closet knit friends/family that are heavily present in the story. The friendships Sydney and Brian both have will warm your heart and make you laugh. Even Jamie, who will grow on you like a fungus until you can’t help but love him.

And speaking of Jamie, I LOVE HIM (I know I just said something about fungus and him, but still). He’s a big personality that doesn’t apologize for who he is and I can’t wait for his story. IT’S GOING TO BE SO MUCH FUUUUN!

If you can’t tell, I love this book!! It’s everything I love about J. Daniels’ writing but it also has a different voice than her other books. Four Letter Word is truly some of her best work yet.
