Some love is infinite
"Don’t have a best friend that’s a girl" — this was the advice from my older cousin. I didn’t take it. Because he followed with, "friends don’t f*ck friends. And you’ll want to f*ck her."
It was terrible advice.
My cousin should’ve told me that being best friends with Baylee Wright — since she was twelve — would be the best and worst decision of my life.
He should have told me to protect her from what was coming.
He should have told me that when a darkness crawled towards us, there’d be no safety net.
Now I’ve signed back on to the same Vegas acrobatic show as Baylee, working together for the first time in years. And she tells me that she’s having trouble in a certain “area” of her life — because of our past.
“You can help me fix it,” she says.
And then she hands me a list.
Recommended for readers 18+ for mature content.
Luka Kotova is introduced in Amour Amour, and Infini takes place in the same acrobatic world. However, it's not necessary to read Amour Amour prior to Infini
I received this book for free from Authors in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review.
(Warning: this review will contain lots of fangirl moments and an excessive use of cap locks)
If you know me, or have ever talked about books with me, than you know who I talk about all the time, the authors that I recommend all the time and book push onto everyone. Krista and Becca Ritchie are my unicorn authors. They are writing wizards and their superpowers are with words.
Infini brings readers back into the magical and alluring cirque world that is full of many familiar and loved faces as well as new faces. New faces like our heroine, Baylee!!! Infini starts with shake ups and changes in the Aerial Ethereal company. Rooms are changing, shows are being relocated, and people are coming.
Baylee and Luka haven’t seen each other in years but now that they are in the same show all that is about to change, but are they ready for it?
OMG THESE CHARACTERS! YOU GUYS! If you haven’t read Amour Amour, you need to, but Luka is the brother to the hero in that book and from the second he was on the page I was in love. He’s just my kind of guy, you know? So, I’ve been ITCHING to get this book but HOLY WOW! I didn’t think I could fall harder for this Kotova man but I WAS WRONG AND AM NOT DESTROYED FOR ALL MEN (except Ryke Meadows, of course). Luka was everything and more. Seriously, his heart is so pure and sweet and he just loves so fiercely.
Baylee is a heroine that I admire so, so, so much! She’s been through a lot in life and still is able to smile and laugh and have fun. Her career in the show, Infini, means everything to her. It ties her to her parents and keeps her connection to them alive. Baylee is sweet and kind and a girl that doesn’t let her fears stop her from succeeding, from getting what she wants.
I love both these characters separately, but together? OH MY GOODNESS MY HERT! MY LITTLE FANGIRL HEART COULDN’T TAKE IT! Their chemistry is undeniable, Luka is *insert twenty fire emojis* and they are the perfect combination of sexy and sweet.
And as much as I loved reading about these two there are some other characters I couldn’t get enough of. The Kotova Family for one! I love Luka’s siblings and cousins so much. Timo, Katya, Nik, and Dimitri make take this book to another level! One thing I absolutely love about Krista and Becca’s writing/books is the huge emphasis they put on family and how real these bonds feel. When this family gets together, I feel the love, the loyalty, the kinship they have for one another. I feel like I’m a member myself.
I also love the time Krista and Becca spend on the other relationships of this series like Nik and Thora (adorable!!) and John and Timo (freaking adorable!!!!). ALSO I HAVE A NEW SHIP THAT I NEED TO BE CANON SO FREAKING BAD!!!! Camilla and Dimitri need to be a thing. I won’t stop until they are together!!! Asdfghjkl;
In case you couldn’t tell, I really, really, really loved this book. So effing much.
Infini is such an emotional, romantic, heartbreaking, and intense read. One that I see many rereads in the future to come. I laughed, I cried (like serious sobbing. Ask Lacey). I felt so many emotions I’m still not fully recovered from this journey. I don’t ever want to recover from this journey. It’s not just the best book I’ve read in 2017 but it’s one of the best books I’ve read period. Which doesn’t even surprise me because Krista and Becca always step up their game with every release. THEY ARE WIZARDS AND SUPERHEROES, I SWEAR!
Now, excuse me while I go reread my favorite passages as I cry into my kindle. BECAUSE OF THE FEELS!!! SO MANY FEELS!
